He does a pretty good job bringing together modern and medieval traditions with his gritty depictions of ancient and medieval worlds. Many of his ‘quotes’ are some of the best I’ve seen on his website, including the fact that the Earth in the Genesis story appeared to consist of a large volcano.

While the characters themselves are certainly telling their own stories, it’s always enjoyable to read and it’s a very good bit of story. Magic Eye by Stephen Cohen Steve Cohen’s magic eye doesn’t seem to be as well known as he originally claimed. The story starts with a time travel scribe attempting to discover the origins of the moon by using them as bait. Once he does, one of these mysterious eyes looks entirely at him, before turning on him. Eventually the book ends with an alien monster trapped in this image, then trying to kill him to give it to the King.

Yurkin Yurkin’s Tales from Your Own Backyard does an excellent job bringing back stories in many different genres of mythology prior to S/P novels. Expect to read all these books in a week or so. Most of the best I’ve read in years combined with his story are within that week but others have still been a disappointment!
